Signs your roof needs attention
Water stains on a ceiling, a musty smell in one room, tiles you can see out of line from the street, gaps or cracked mortar under the ridge caps, rust on the sheets or around screws, and gutters that overflow in rain are all worth a roofer's look. Small faults are cheap to fix. Left alone, a slow leak can rot battens and stain ceilings, and soak insulation and wiring.
Leaking right now?
Choose "Leaking now" on the form, or call or WhatsApp us, and we'll do our best to find a roofer who can come out quickly. In the meantime, move valuables and put a bucket under the drip. If water is near lights or power points, turn the power off at the switchboard if it's safe to do so. Don't climb onto a wet roof, and keep away from any ceiling that is sagging or bulging with water.
Storm and hail damage
Adelaide's summer storms and the occasional hailstorm crack tiles, lift sheets and block gutters. If you're claiming on insurance, a roofer's photos and written report make the claim much easier. Check your policy before work starts, as some insurers want to approve the quote or choose the repairer.
Repair or restore?
If the fault is in one spot and the rest of the roof is in good shape, a repair is the sensible fix. If there are problems in several places, or the roof hasn't had any work in 20 or 30 years, ask for prices for both a repair and a full restoration so you can compare.
Common questions
How much does a roof repair cost?
In Adelaide in 2026 a minor leak repair is usually $230 to $735, and replacing broken or cracked tiles $275 to $920. Ridge capping repairs on part of the roof run about $370 to $1,100. See the cost guide.
How do roofers find a leak?
By checking the roof and the roof space around where the water shows up. Water often runs along battens or sarking before it drips, so the leak can be some distance from the stain on your ceiling.
Will my insurance cover it?
Sudden storm damage often is, while wear and tear usually isn't. Check your policy, and ask the roofer for photos and a written report to support the claim.
Can you fix just one or two tiles?
Yes. Small repairs are a normal part of a roofer's work, though most have a minimum charge to cover getting to your home with ladders and safety gear.
