What we arrange quotes for

One enquiry covers the whole roof: tiles or sheets, ridge capping, valleys and flashings, gutters, downpipes and fascia.

Roof restoration

Bring a tired roof back to life without replacing it. A high-pressure clean, broken tiles replaced, ridge capping rebedded and repointed, then a fresh protective coating. Metal roofs get rust treated, new screws and a repaint.

Roof repairs and leaks

Leaks, cracked or slipped tiles, crumbling ridge capping, rusted valleys and flashings, lifting sheets and storm damage. Small faults fixed now stop bigger bills later.

Roof replacement and re-roofing

When a roof is past saving, replace it. Tile to Colorbond, new tiles, old iron or asbestos roofs replaced, with new sarking, gutters and fascia at the same time. Built for Adelaide's 40-degree summers, salty sea air and bushfire-prone Hills.

Use the form, call or WhatsApp. Roughly how old the house is, the type of roof and what's wrong is plenty to start with.

  3. Roof inspection

They inspect the roof, take photos and talk you through what needs doing now and what can wait.

  4. Get your quote

You get a written quote to consider. There's no obligation to go ahead.

Adelaide roofs aren't all the same

An iron roof on a Norwood villa, a 1980s concrete tile roof in Golden Grove and a Colorbond roof a block from the beach at Brighton all need different work. We match you with a roofer who knows your kind of roof.

Character villas and cottages

Corrugated iron roofs, bullnose verandahs and box gutters, often in historic areas. Like-for-like iron re-roofs and careful flashing work keep the character intact.

Unley, Norwood, Prospect

Post-war and 1960s–80s homes

Terracotta or concrete tiles that have done 40 years or more. Cracked ridge mortar and porous, faded tiles are the usual problems, and a restoration often fixes both.

Campbelltown, Marion, Charles Sturt

1990s and 2000s family homes

Concrete tile roofs coming up to their first restoration: faded coating, lichen, and pointing starting to crack along the ridges.

Golden Grove, Aberfoyle Park, Paralowie

New estate homes

Newer tile and Colorbond roofs. The usual jobs are leaks around pipes and vents, tiles cracked by solar or antenna installers, and gutters and downpipes.

Mount Barker, Blakeview, Seaford Meadows

Beachside homes

Salt air rusts screws, flashings and sheets quickly near the water. BlueScope recommends tougher steel within about 200 metres of breaking surf.

Henley Beach, Brighton, Semaphore

Hills homes

Leaf-filled gutters, moss on the tiles, steep blocks and bushfire risk. Gutter guard and sealing gaps against embers are common add-ons.

Stirling, Aldgate, Belair

Got an old asbestos roof?

Grey corrugated fibre-cement roofs on Adelaide homes, garages and sheds built before about 1990 often contain asbestos. In good condition and left alone, asbestos cement is low risk. The danger comes from disturbing it, so it should never be walked on, cut, drilled or water-blasted, and old sheets can be brittle enough to fall through.

When it's time to replace it:

  • Removing more than 10 square metres must be done by a SafeWork SA licensed asbestos removalist
  • The removalist notifies SafeWork SA before the job starts
  • Your quote should cover removal, disposal, a clearance certificate and the new roof
  • Most asbestos roofs are replaced with COLORBOND steel, often with new gutters at the same time

What pushes the price up

  • Two storeys or a steep roof that needs scaffolding
  • Lots of broken tiles, or ridge capping that all needs rebedding
  • Solar panels that have to come off and go back on
  • Terracotta, slate or heritage materials
  • Asbestos removal, or a steep block in the Hills

Questions we get asked

Is the quote really free?

Yes. There's no charge to you for the introduction, the roof inspection or the quote, and no obligation to go ahead.

Who will do the work?

A local roofer or roof tiler who services your suburb and holds a South Australian building work contractor's licence. You deal with them directly on the scope, the contract and the price.

Should I restore or replace my roof?

If the tiles or sheets are sound, a restoration is usually the better value, at a fraction of the cost of a new roof. If tiles are breaking all over the roof, an iron roof has rusted through, or the roof is asbestos cement, a new roof is usually the better spend. More about roof restoration.

How long does a roof restoration take?

Most single-storey restorations take a few working days, plus any days lost to rain, because coatings need dry weather to cure. A full re-roof depends on the size of the roof, the number of storeys and what's coming off.

Can you help with a leak right now?

We'll try. Choose "Leaking now" on the form, or call or WhatsApp us on 0413 625 583, and we'll look for a roofer near you who can come out quickly. Please don't climb onto a wet roof yourself.

Do I need council approval for a new roof?

Usually not for repairs, a restoration or a like-for-like re-roof. Changing the shape or structure of the roof, adding to it, or working on a heritage-listed home can need development approval, which in South Australia is lodged through the PlanSA portal. Homes in historic areas may need approval to change the roof's material or colour where it can be seen from the street. The roofer quoting your job should confirm what's needed.

Do you handle asbestos roofs?

Yes. We can arrange quotes from roofers who replace asbestos cement roofs using a SafeWork SA licensed asbestos removalist, which is required for more than 10 square metres.

Which areas do you cover?

All of metropolitan Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills and Mount Barker, Gawler and Two Wells, and the southern coast and McLaren Vale down to Sellicks Beach. See all 466 suburbs.
